Privacy Policy
Effective July 2, 2026
Apprise ("we") is an iOS app that identifies antiques from photos and estimates their value. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
What we collect
- Photos you submit for identification. When you snap or choose a photo, it is sent to our servers and to our AI processing partner (OpenAI) to produce the identification. Photos used only for identification are not retained after processing. If you save a find to your collection, that photo and its appraisal are stored so they can sync to your ledger across reinstalls.
- Appraisal feedback. If you tell us an appraisal was wrong, we store your correction and optional note to improve the product.
- An anonymous account ID. The app creates a random account identifier so your saved collection and daily scan allowance work. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or contacts, and we cannot connect the anonymous ID to you.
What we don't do
We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics trackers. We do not sell or share your data with data brokers. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account; we never see your payment details. Manage or cancel subscriptions anytime in your App Store settings.
Data retention and deletion
Saved items remain until you delete them in the app, which also removes them from our servers. To request deletion of all data tied to your anonymous account, email us and include the sync code shown in the app's Settings screen.
Third-party processors
- Supabase — database, storage, and anonymous authentication.
- OpenAI — image identification.
- SerpAPI — market listing search; receives only the item's text description, never your photo or any identifier.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
